The foundations of the group, owned and managed today by the third generation of the Padovani family, the three brothers Francesco, Vittorio and Giovanni, were laid in the early years of the last century and have developed into a business with an international dimension. In fact the group is considered today to be the largest independent trader of tinplate in Europe, importing from most major mills located in Europe, Asia and the Americas and also represents a number of these mills, engaging in the so called agency business.

Initially a food trader, the second Padovani generation initiated trading in tin plate during the 1950ies, which has become one of the main activities of the group today. Currently the Padovani Group offers a unique combination of services worldwide: the trading, tooling and distribution of electrolytic tinplate (EPS) and tin free steel (TFS) for the metal packaging industry through its various service centres located in Europe and the trading of coated steel products such as galvanized as well as pre-painted steel, hot rolled steel coils (HRC), cold rolled coils (CRC) and also the production and distribution of canned food under different brand names.

We process in excess of 300'000 MT of steel products per year of which approximately 250'000 MT of tinplate (75% prime and 25% secondary quality) representing a turnover of over € 180 million.
